Girl Friday: Julia Restoin Roitfeld

Today’s Girl Friday is the seriously chic and svelte Julia Restoin Roitfeld.
Fashion royalty by way of her mother Carine, editor of French Vogue, Julia runs her own art direction company and has done work for V Magazine, Jean Paul Gaultier and Rock & Republic, among others.

Born in Paris and educated in New York, Julia is a regular fixture on the fashion social scene, gracing awards ceremonies and front rows with her dark haired beauty and distinctive style from Ibiza to London and Paris.

Julia is a fan of Mark Fast’s contoured, form-fitting knitwear, seen here at the British Fashion Awards:

Julia claims that she is more ‘prudish’ than her provocative mother, but her own style is a clear evolution of her mother’s own sexy, sometimes-severe style. Her style is a prance of LBDs, sexy minis tempered with leather, edgy platform heels, and dresses with unusual sartorial detailing, always topped with that green-eyed gaze and a tousle of dark hair.

The subject of international fascination, the Roitfeld children (Julia and younger brother, Vladimir), are said to be gracious, hard working and humble about their well-connected origins (their godfather is Mario Testino, FFS!)

And my personal favourite, an Emilio de la Morena dress made just for her:

Julia’s stylish London terrace has been featured on cult website, The Selby:

(Adore the skull!)

And she was also featured on Vogue UK’s ‘Today I’m Wearing’ blog, where, as Vogue put it, she ‘cleaned up’.
