The Weekend

Such great weather this weekend, I even ventured to Sandy Bay for the afternoon yesterday with my friend Jenna.

But first we had a stroll around the You & Me & Everyone We Know market*  at the Labia on Orange, which was both festive and a nice little people-watching excursion.

*(visit their FB page for more info http://www.facebook.com/event.php?eid=154252624601055)

Green Pop* was there making music and raising awareness and there were locally made jewels, clothing (new & second hand), cupcakes and Moscow Mules on sale. Saw some very stylish individuals (lots of enviable tapered leg Spring trousers and leather satchels).

Post-beach, eating avo's in the kitchen - Summer is here!

Then we jumbled our beachware together and headed for my favourite beach, Sandy Bay – famous for being a nude beach since before my mom was a teenager. It’s a great beach, not very busy (due to the 20 minute or so stroll it takes to get there) and also the fact that it is home to bevvies of naked, sunbathing men. Not necessarily of the straight variety – so don’t get too excited. If full frontal and nude wave-frolicking is not your thing, don’t go to Sandy Bay, because the nudesters are the majority and the bikini-clad folk are a pale minority.

On Saturday night my brother and I got a little dolled up and went to Hudson’s* for Howling Wolf chicken salads and chilli poppers, and grooved over dinner to New Order, Tone Loc and The Pixies – they play their music really loud, which ups the burger joint ambience and makes people get groovy while they’re eating.

*http://www.theburgerjoint.co.za/ – try the peanut butter milkshake and also the Lagerita, a genius combination of Jack Black beer and a margarita.

* tshirt – vintage Rolling Stones, skirt – Topshop, heels – Daniella Michelle @ Zoom, bag – Accessorize

That’s my weekend so far. Cape Town cool ❤

What did you get up to?
